GREAT LAW OF PEACE
AUGUST 7TH TO 12TH | SOUR SPRINGS LONGHOUSE | SIX NATIONS
The recital is right around the corner and we would like to give you a brief update as to where the Planning Committee is at with everything.
Site preparations are well under way at Sour Springs Longhouse! We’re clearing brush & moving debris to ensure a safe & clean venue. We are erecting a new structure with air conditioning to accommodate our elderly. We need help immediately at the Longhouse, if you’re able to come by it would be greatly appreciated – no need to register, just show up!
We are still fundraising & accepting donations, our How to Help page has the details. If you would like to donate your time during the recital please use our Volunteer Registration Form to apply.
Ohsweken Speedway has opened up their location to accommodate any campers. They have bathrooms available and the committee is arranging for a mobile shower to be setup. Click here for directions.
Akwesasne set the precedent that limiting our waste is of the utmost importance. Amazingly, they produced only 8 bags of waste over the course of last years recital. The Six Nations Planning Committee has issued a Zero Waste Challenge during the recital in hopes to limit our waste too. We will have a washing station for all your dishes, cups, & utensils; and, blue bins for sorting.
A lot of good dialogue filled our territories with each passing recital. These discussions sometimes make there way back to our speakers and they value every bit of it. If you have any input, critical or otherwise, please send your voice via email – firstname.lastname@example.org.
